Concord Police Department
For Concord Police Department, Community Based Policing is a philosophy and not just another program. In other words, all coworkers must be involved in fighting crime and the fear of crime in our community. This approach is recognized throughout the international police profession as the preferred way to police.
Concord's Community Based Policing approach involves three approaches that integrate into our philosophy. The first is taking a coactive approach to crime and the fear of crime by developing strong community partnerships. Beginning September 01, 2001, Concord Patrol Officers were assigned to work the same area each tour of duty as much as possible. Also, during this time, all community meetings began being attended by officers. This includes command staff and line officers.

Over the years the City of Concord has strived to maintain consistency for our customers. To improve efficiency and service to you, the entire garbage system has been overhauled for the first time in over a decade, taking into account future growth with the goal of minimal changes in the foreseeable future.

The city of Concord dates back over 200 years and is currently considered the county seat of
Cabarrus County. Concord is home to a host of attractions that draw millions of visitors a year.
These attractions include Lowes Motor Speedway and Carolina Mills. Concord is also the home of Northeast Medical Center, an award winning medical facility. Concord
was also named "All American City" in 2004. With Interstate 85, Concord has easy access to Charlotte and Raleigh.
